Survey and Interviews During the China Education Expo
NEEA carried out a questionnaire survey and interview during the China Education Expo, Beijing, on October 25th, with support from the China Association for International Exchange. This aided the research group in better understanding how international schools perceive Chinese students’ language ability and their English language needs, as well as their expectations toward and suggestions on Chinese examinations.
More than 30 international schools, mainly from the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada, agreed to participate. Respondents include regional managers and school officials who gave valuable comments on China’s exams of English, critical evaluation of China’s students’ English ability and suggestions on how China can better teach and assess English. The research team will summarize the suggestions and analyze the questionnaire results shortly.
