Exploring the Applicability of the CSE in Language Testing and Assessment

Abstract:
Since the release and implementation of China’s Standards of English Language Ability(CSE), scholars and English teachers in China have undertaken extensive studies on the application of CSE in English learning, teaching, and assessment. This article begins with a review of the literature related to the application of CSE, followed by a tentative discussion about the application of CSE specifically in English language testing and assessment in terms of CSE-linked assessment, CSE-based assessment, and CSE-informed assessment, and ends with some suggestions regarding further CSE application studies.
